Yorkshire Sculpture Park
Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a pioneering place that aims to challenge, inspire, inform and delight, welcoming over 300,000 visitors, including 40,000 learning visits each year.
500 acres of fields, hills, woodland, lakes and formal gardens combine to create a beautiful landscape and stunning setting for Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
This landscape is not entirely natural. In fact it has been altered a lot in the last few hundred years, mainly for the families that have lived here since the land was listed as ‘waste’ in the Domesday Book.
YSP recently commissioned an Historic Landscape Management Plan setting out a 10 year programme to restore the 500 acre estate.
Following major work to restore and enhance areas of the Bretton Estate never accessible to the public before, the historic lakes and woodland opened to visitors in summer 2011.
The only one of its kind, Yorkshire Sculpture Park is an international centre for modern and contemporary art, experienced and enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year.
Explore open-air displays by some of the world’s finest artists, enjoy fascinating exhibitions throughout four stunning galleries, be inspired by the natural beauty of an historic estate, and get involved in a dynamic line up of events and activities.
