Repeat Repeat – The Mugs and Others
When Gillian Naylor and Mark Faulkner – then fresh out of college – established their design-led pottery business Repeat Repeat in Stoke-on-Trent in 1984, they knew their British base and hands-on approach would stand them in good stead.
‘If you manufacture in China, you have to design months ahead,’ explains Gillian. ‘If we wanted, we could design something today and have it made and ready in a fortnight.’
The brand’s winning combination of traditional techniques and contemporary designs hasn’t gone unnoticed, with big names such as The Conran Shop and Selfridges eager to stock the distinctive tableware.
Alongside the Repeat Repeat Tableware Collections Gillian Naylor and Mark Faulkner run a successful Design Studio. The Studio’s strength lies in its ability to encompass a broad range of Multi – Disciplinary Design skills into both large and small projects which range from company logos, illustration and packaging, through to corporate/retail product design and development.
Work can follow a customer’s brief and designs completed for a client to implement their own production, or a project could involve simply granting a licence to a manufacturer for the re-use of an existing design from The Repeat Repeat Tableware Collection.
