Vintage fabric rarely comes by the meter, unused or still on the bolt, so you will probably find that you will need to reclaim it from curtains, clothes or other made-up fabric sources. Searching out and salvaging what you can is the way forward.
There was an age when all of our homes were filled with useful or pretty little things that were made to last. They were often produced in small quantities or hand-finished, made close to home, from good-quality materials and used or played with carefully. However fashionable there were in their best times, we call them now a vintage stuff.

None of it has to be expensive. As with styling your home, you can achieve a wonderful look for your celebration with a combination of second-hand shopping and home crafting.

She is particularly passionate about very worn old patchwork quilts which were often made of old dressmaking off-cuts, old clothing and tailor’s samples. Mandy has carefully re-examined the quilts, often unpicking them completely into their original scraps, and to discover hidden layers and sometimes even other worn quilts inside.
